Description

The SureStepr SD2209 is a bi-polar stepper motor driver based on the latest TMC2209 chip from Trinamic. Runs significantly quieter and smoother compared to previous stepper divers generations. Simple to use and operate using an indexer (DIR/STEP) interface to move the stepper motors. The SD2209 is a drop-in replacement for Pololu style footprint drivers including the SD8825, A4988, A4983 and Stepsticks. See user guide for pin out compatibility.

No extra wires needed for EASY UART mode on any controller board with LPC1768 or LPC1769 chip running Marlin.

The SD2209 features a clear top area making heat sinking easier and more efficient. Main chip is mounted on the bottom to expose the bottom heat pad to the top area using via stitching. Comes with hefty red heatsinks.
No soldering required as all pin headers comes pre-soldered.

The SD2209 has a max peak output of 2.7 Amps and has up to 1/64 micro stepping.

See user guide before attempting to install. Do not operate above 1A without heat sink.

Available modes: Configured using solder jumpers on driver.

Stand Alone: Driver is controlled using Step/Dir pins and current is set using the trim pot manually. Similar in operation when using A4988 or DRV8825 drivers. Microstepping is set using jumpers on the board. Can use StealthChop and SpreadCycle modes using jumpers. Can be used on any controller board that can run Pololu style drivers (pretty much all socket type driver boards). Applicable to all firmwares

Easy UART mode : Driver is controlled using Step/Dir pins and fully configured using UART. No extra wires needed for LPC1768/69 based boards. Currently applicable on Marlin Firmware only. Stall detection/Sensorless homing can be configured using UART.

Standard UART mode : Driver is controlled using Step/Dir pins and fully configured using UART. Extra wires needed to connect UART pin. Applicable to Firmwares that support TMC UART drivers. Stall detection/Sensorless homing can be configured using UART. For use with 8bit controllers and other non LPC based boards.
